T Plays V Final Results

Congratulations to the Silver Line Team (K. Alexa Mavromatis, Barlow Adamson, Greer Rooney and Kevin LaVelle) they are the winners of the Audience Favorite Vote for T Plays V.  This was an exceptionally tight race and it really came down to counting all the votes from our closing night audience.  The Blue Line was just 4 votes behind.  The remaining plays finished a bit behind but all were within a dozen votes of each other, and the order was Green Line, Orange Line, 47 Bus and Red Line.  This definitely was a banner year for our short plays, so we're going to have to think extra hard to see how we can top it next time.  Hmmmm.  The T Plays: Kabuki?  Maybe.

With One Show Left

The Silver Line still remains in front followed closely by the Blue Line.  The Green Line and 47 Bus are also grouped very close as are the Orange and Red Line.  There are still seats available for our final show tonight at 8PM.

Every Cloud has a Silver Lining

The cloudy gloom did not keep voters away from the Silver Line.  They jumped ahead in the vote totals last night basically tripling their total.  The Blue Line and Green Line are close behind and close together.  The 47 bus is next and the Red Line and the Orange Line are tied.  Two more performances.  Still plenty of seats.  Don't let your favorite come in second.

Very nice words before our closing 3 performances...

We're delighted WBUR's ARTery enjoyed the show:

"This year’s T-plays show the magical moments on the train as well as the dark and scary corners of the MBTA. See them before this train pulls out of the station for another year."

We agree!  only 3 more shows, this Thursday, Friday and Saturday!

After the first full week...

A whole new line up has emerged.  The Silver Line now leads the pack with the Green Line following.  The Blue Line is next followed by the 47 bus.  Not too far behind (and easily within striking distance) are the Red Line followed by the Orange.  This is how things will stay until we resume performances on Thursday.  Three more chances to vote for your favorites.

Saturday, August 24, 2013

This is the closest one yet

After 4 shows we have a three way tie for the most votes for the audience favorite.  The Blue Line, the Silver and the Green.  Right behind them is a two way tie with the 47 bus and the Red Line.  One vote behind them is the Orange.  The matinee crowd will get their say tomorrow at 3PM.

Friday, August 23, 2013

After 3 shows...

The Blue Line remains in front with the Silver Line very close behind.  The Green, Orange and Red Lines are now all tied.  (As opposed to tied up as they usually are).  And the 47 bus is one vote behind that grouping.  The weekend crowds will definitely need to come out to support their favorites.

Vote Tallies

After the second performance several plays surged ahead in the voting.  Currently the Blue Line is still in the lead.  It is followed very closely by Green and Silver.  The 47 bus, the Red Line and the Orange round out the pack.  6 more shows.  Still plenty of time for any one of them to jump to the top.

Preview Votes Count Too

The results are in from last night's preview.  It looks like this is going to be a tight race.

Currently the Blue Line is in the lead with the Silver Line one vote behind.

The remaining lines are separated by just 4 votes.  The 47 Bus, the Green Line, the Orange Line and the Red Line.  I suspect there will be a lot of jockeying for position in the next few days.

Come to the theater and let us know your favorite.

And in conclusion...

The Green Line was the winner of the Audience Favorite for T Plays IV: Rush Hour.  Our plans to have a duck boat parade with the winning team was thwarted by finances, so instead I suggest if any of you see Rick Park (playwright); Kim Anton Myatt (director) or Kelley Estes, Louise Hamill or Geogre Saulnier III (actors) sometime in the next few weeks you belt out a verse of Never Been To Me in their honor.

The Commuter Rail finnished a strong second and the 66 bus proved to be the little bus that could as it scored large amunts of votes every night this week.  The Orange Line ended up just ahead of the Silver (I did wonder if the future Fitch travelled from is similar to the future portrayed in the Silver Line - discuss).

The Red and the Blue rounded out the results.

Thanks to all the artists who contribued this year to the T Plays.  You guys and gals were all great.

And as they say at the end of the credits in a James Bond movie....

The T Plays will return....

Twilight of T Plays IV

T Plays have a very brief life.  They are born out of frenzied creativity.  The burn bright and then two short weeks later thet are done.  T Plays IV have one more night to burn and then they too will fade away.  One more chance to vote awaits our (rapidly filling) house tomorrow.  www.mill6.org if you want to purchase tickets and be part of the fun.

With one performance remaining the standings are:

Green in the lead.

Commuter Rail still just behind them in second (both plays have received the same amount of votes the past two evenings).

66 Bus still strong at third.

Silver and Orange are tied and Red and Blue follow behind.

It all will be decided tomorrow.

T Plays IV reminds me of The Cannonball Run for two Reasons

First, that movie largely seems to have been made because Burt Reynolds went through his rolodex (it was the 80's) and called up all his friends and said "Hey let's get together and have a laugh.  Oh and make a movie."  All of the artists invovled with the T Plays IV are such easy going fun folk I just enjoy hanging around them and watching them perform each night.

Second, although mostly a car chase movie - the final set piece has the whole gang of 70's A listers and 80's B movie stars running in a foot race to the finnish.  At this point and time it looks like T Plays IV may have a similar ending.

The current standings:

Green line has pulled out ahead once again.

Commuter Rail is second and quite close.

66 remains in third.

Orange jumps back to fourth.

Silver one vote behind in fifth.

Red and Blue are tied.

Two more shows left.  We have plenty of seats (as of this blogging) for Friday evening.  And a few seats left for Saturday (it is filling up fast).  Visit www.mill6.org to order your tickets.  Because only you and your vote will determine who will be.......

Railroad Ties

In some ways we're back where we started.

Green Line and Commuter Rail are tied.

The 66 Bus had a gangbusters night and more than doubled its votes to be in third.

The Silver and Orange are neck and neck and the Red and Blue each gained some votes.

Three more shows.  Three more chances to vote.

Halfway

After the first week of voting the results are:

Green Line still in the lead with Commuter Rail second.

66 bus jumps back to third.

Silver jumps to fourth.

The Orange Line and Red Line and Blue line follow.

Only four more shows to go.  Plenty of seats left for all performances.

Sneak Peek at T Plays IV

Our friend Meg Taintor took some photos of our first and only run through before opening.  Here are a few snapshots of what you'll see (or have seen) at The T Plays IV.

Geogre Saulnier III, Kelley Estes and Louise Hamill experience some Mob Mentality in Rick Park's play set on the Green Line.

Public transit advocates will be relieved to learn that the Silver Line is still around in the year 2117.  Elizabeth A. Rimar and Bonnie Duncan prepare for the journey in Kevin Mullins' play Masquerades in the City of the Great ONE.
